profound regret we record the death of mr air george horrocks of this city which took place this morning about half past ten mr horrocks Horroc kg is well known and respected in this city as an industrious and honorable man nian and his death will cause universal sorrow while suffering from smallpox small pox he arose from his bed a few days ago in the temporary absence of his attendant and went to north ogden last evening and on examining ininger mr holmes hoimes and finding a number of pustules pus tules ho pronounced his duease small pox the doctor returned to ogden to forward some medicine and after preparing it at the city drug klore ho he dispatched it by a messenger before the arrived mr holics had breathed his last in this world dc deceased had been troubled for several years with heart disease and his death is generally attributed to this than the smallpox small smail ox this rather calamity will bei be deeply felt by the people as mr holmes was well and favorably known throughout the county having been a public man filling from time to time many publia positions he served the county as selectman he once presided over the settlement where lie died and he was family at ed eden on are afflicted with the disease provo enquirer nov 4 on monday monlay last about 2 wilford baker of pleasant grove was accidentally killed by being struck by a large stump rolling down the mountain the deceased was in battle creek canon with others getting wood but left them about 10 telling them he had some wood below which ho he would get to the road and then go home mr home that afternoon and funeral services held on tuesday afternoon the deceased was born in n england in the year 1851 1551 he bo bore an excellent character and has been identified with the pleasant
