i Washington British Columbia and Norway The meet conducted Saturday and Sunday 7 November was divided into five levels of difficulty based on the participants abilities and experience The competition within the five courses was further hvided mto sex and age categories The participants were competing against each other on their particular course Most of the individual teams as well The fastest participants were competing on three individual turner were added to make the team score The Bridgerand Orienteering Club USU ran the red courses as did rrr’M f the other organizations The red courses were the advanced ategory The mud difficult course blue is run only by men over 21 and with a great deal of orienteering experience The Bndgerland Orienteering Club just organized this quarter did a fine job of representing USU against the other participating school and clubs The first team consisting of Captains Bob Myers and Jim tiler of the Army ROTC Department and USU students Mike Braun and Ed Schroeder took first place Second place went to the University of Idaho Third place was taken by the Second Bridgerland Team of USU Keith students consisting Major Frank Franklin and Harold Berloth Individual honors went to Keith Major for first place in the under 21 age c lass Bob Myers first place and Ed Schroeder second place in the age class and Jim Hier first place in the 35 and over class Keith Major was first overall and Jim Hier was third overall The 1600 mile trip by the Bridgerland Orienteering Club has been considered a success and has served notice to the other orienteering schools that USU will have to be recognized 1 Bv Dale Bublitz d for a touchdown and Colorado State 1M at halftime 13-- 7 The third quarter was frustrating for USU The Aggies dominated the entire quarter and came out with only three points An impressive drive stalled and Scott Dye missed a field d attempt 15-1- 0 Veg soil!
