Editor Student Life: Why are prices at the bookstore so high? I paid approximately $50 for about $35 worth of books I am a bit confused as to why I had to pay the extra $15 dollars I have asked many people why but still do not know what is going on I asked people in student government: some gave me the ‘it’s attitude while others seemed genuinely concerned I hear there’s a bookstore committee in ASUSU Are they doing anything about it or don’t they want to? (What’s happening with student book exchange that we had last year on the first Floor of the UB?) I recently had the opportunity to get some administration feedback but the pictures they gave were vague— a company is handling all the books and supplies or something of that nature Do they want to take a stand or are they satisfied the way things are even though probably most of the studentbody is sick of being ripped off at the end and beginning of every quarter? Even teachers have remarked to students including myself about how outrageous the prices are for books here on campus Do teachers remark this way about books this frequently at other colleges' and universities?
