Show Monday July 3 1974 Pag© 3 Review "The Fanfasficks" by Editor Pauline Summers Try to remember a time in July when you were dazzled tickled and perplexed by a theatre production The Old Lyric Repertory Company presented “The Fantasticks” for the first time July 4 and like the revolutionary war there were a few snags Superb acting in the imaginary stage setting was executed by Constantine Demos and Richard Arrington but stiffness in motion and line delivery was a plague on both houses in the form of “the boy” and “the girl” The young lovers portrayed by Martha Keller and Douglas H Barker could render a good show tune but the touching moonlight garden scene brought back memories of Mr Roger’s Neighborhood The play written by Tom Jones was a long run broadway favorite and is a well written think piece Stage design at the Lyric is well fitted to the material and the general mood of the play Piano arrangements were handled by Jo Gerrish with other members of the musical back up crew doing an excellent job Jack Southwick acting as Indian sidekick with a British accent to Patrick Williams did well though his ' style of acting remained basically the same as he used to portray Elwood in the Lyric production of “Harvey” David L Jensen the all around man of the show did well as a narrator and was in excellent voice hut lended towards the area of over dramatics The play with a few more performances should be in good shape AMERICAN BRASS QUINTET performing July 10 Brass quintet to perform in the USU Chase Fine Arts center UC rlOVIES PRESENTS PEANUTS® The American Brass Quintet By will perform Wednesday July 10 at 7:30 pm in the Chase Fine Arts Center on the USU campus The group consisting of Robert Biddlecome on the bass trombone Edward Birdwell on french horn Raymond Mase and Louis Ranger on trumpet and Herbert Rankin on tenor trombone will also hold a class in the music department of USU that afternoon Having performed throughout the world the American Brass Quintet has received reviews lauding their performance The Washington Post said "No texture speed tone color or dynamic seems to be beyond Charles M “The most visually stunning movie ever made” Winner of 7 academy awards including best picture Schulz Columbia pictures presents Sam Spiegel David Lean Production of — 0)HAT PIP IT fAY IN MY &EA6LE 6CQVT HANDBOOK?
