trouble later on Go ahead and have fun but don’t make any romantic commitments opens eighth season this week Now in its eighth season at the historic Lyric Theatre in Logan the Old Lyric Repertory Company is once again offering summer entertainment during the months of June July and August With the support of the Utah Institute of Fine Arts and the University Resident Theatre Association the Old Lyric Repertory will present four plays this summer: Mary Chase’s HARVEY the romantic musical THE FANTASTICKS David Belasco’s THE GIRL OF THE GOLDEN WEST and Neil COME Simon’s comedy-farc- e BLOW YOUR HORN The season opens June 27 and the productions play in rotation through August 24 Managing Director of the Old Lyric Repertory is Professor W Vosco Call of the USU Department of Theatre Arts and joining him for a third season as director will be Professor Lee Johnson of the College of Eastern Utah Price As usual this year’s Repertory Company is drawn from talented Theatre Arts students throughout the Intermountain West and across the United States This year’s company of 18 (12 men six women) boast eight members who are returning for a second in some cases a third year One returns after several years with the US Navy The rest of the company is new this season with representatives of USU Weber State College of Eastern Utah and Snow College Others come from the east: Baltimore Maryland and from Guilford Connecticut Among these are three URTA finalists The entire company is involved in all aspects of production Not only do all perform but they also build the sets light the shows run the performances and the theatre The Lyric Theatre in which the Repertory Company performs first opened to the public in 1913 Its historical relevance to the state was recognized when the theatre was placed on the Utah State Register of Historical Sites in May 1971 Starting off the season will be a Harvey a comedy the entire family will enjoy Harvey will run Thursday Friday and
