on Wednesday June 26 and will consider “schools in crisis” He will deal with leadership for alternatives in education on Thursday at the same time There will be eight other lectures delivered The Logan-Hyru- and m Logan-Mendo- n routes are popular level ground tours Canoeing Although one of the most arid states Utah waterways offer good canoeing and Cache Valley is no exception Flatwater for be it fishing excanoeing can be an or whatever ploring exhilarating way to spend a hot summer day Some of the best flatwater areas include the Logan River Dams Tony Grove Lake Hyrum Reservoir and Pelican Pond For canoeists who desire more demanding waters the Bear and Cub Rivers will provide more mobile challenges Canoes can be rented from the Harmonious Living Center in the basement of the UC Fishing rainbow The Logan Blacksmith Fork and Little Bear Rivers will all produce limits of trout as will the Porcupine Bass and crappie can be had from Benson Marina Pelican Pond and out by Cache Valley Cheese west of Smithfield Licenses are required and the fish and game laws are enforced so be 'ure and know the rules before starting Horseback Riding Recreating the Old West becomes a reality when exploring Cache Valley on horseback Be it for an hour or overnight you too can become a modern day Jim Bridger There are two locations at which horses can be rented One is in North Logan and offers an enjoyable ride up Green Canyon The other is the Sherwood Hills Resort offering a tour of Sardine Canyon Prices start at $250 Canal Tubing Any canal with moving water can be tubed A good canal to start out on begins about two miles up Logan Canyon ends at the Logan City Golf Course and takes approximately forty-fiv- e minutes to travel The keys to success include a large tube because of the water a stick with which to push off the sides and a bottle of your favorite refreshment not-war- m The possibilities are limitless (while paper space is not) with golf water skiing tennis
