and international relations at Woodrow Wilson School in Princton University will be the first visiting lecturers in the Merrill Visiting Scholar Lecture Series at USU Dr E Joe Middlebrooks was recently elected to the board of directors and vice president of the David Walker' economist and Edward Morse political scientist will spend two days each at USU discussing economic and political problems April Atlantic in the Community The three days of formal presentations and informal discussion groups are sponsored by the Department of Political Science and President Glen Taggart presented the Phonathon trophy to the Center for the Study of the Causes of War and last year’s winning business fraternity Conditions for Peace The second annual lecture series directed by the Milton R Merrill Professor of Political Science Dr Wofram Hanrieder deals with perhaps the most important international situation facing the United States relations today — American-Europea- n 9-- 11 Severn forums planned Economic strategic and political problems and prospects for the 1970’s will be the topics for seven forums during the months of April and May Credit may be received for attending the lectures either by registering for Political Science 589 that meets Monday Wednesday and Friday of each week or by registering through the Extension Class Division Extension lectures are slated Tuesdays at 7 pm on April 10 17 and 24 and May 8 and 15 After completing a master’s degree in international studies at Johns Hopkins Dr Morse spent a year at the SAIS Pologna Center as an Italian Government Fellow He was awarded a PhD from Princeton in 1969 He is an associate editor of the journal “World Politics” and a member of the editorial board for “International Yearbook of Foreign Policy” He recently served as an International Affairs Fellow with the Council on Foreign Relations and is a NATO Post doctoral Fellow He has written extensively on the industrial community particularly in the US and the Western European Countries Dr Morse will be at USU April 10 and 11 The title of his lecture is “European Monetary Integration and US Foreign Policy” Dr Walker a graduate of Cambridge University is on temporary leave of absence from Her Majesty’s Treasury to serve with the International Monetary Fund He will speak April 9 to USU Classes and with Dr Morse on April 10 The next guest of the lecture series is Dr Hans J the Leonard Davis Distinguished Morgenthau Professor at the City University at USU April of New York He will be 13 Ecology authority to speak Lecturer for the Ecology on Monday
