crowd of 1500 Anderson said “There is no other government anywhere that offers its people more freedom no government’ that offers its people more opportunity and no government anywhere that gives the press more freedom than the United States And we’re going to have to bleed and fight to keep it” “Every government by its nature tries to suppress the press” Anderson said Anderson quoted the words of Thomas Jefferson who said “If I had to choose between government without newspapers and newspapers without government I would not hesitate to choose the latter” Much Jack Anderson gesticulates in speech before 1500 in the Monday FAC of Anderson’s speech dealt with the Federal Bureau of Investigation He said the FBI has been investigating the “loyal opposition not spies the noncriminals not be dressed up with two handsome new signs as a result of the latest Univer- sity Physical Resource Planning Committee meeting Motorists driving up 4th North from downtown presently see a cracked plastic neon sign at the bottom corner of Old Main Hill On top of the 4th North hill closer to the mouth of Logan Canyon stands a similar sign which once marked the turn to a street which no longer exists Complaints were received about the n look of the two somewhat signs As a result they will be replaced by signs with metal letters projecting from a study laminated wooden beam run-dow- The tough letters possibly of the Permalloy type will be anchored by hidden steel boats to background discourage vandals The new signs will carry the USU logo of interlocking “U’”s and will be lighted at
