Don’t get me wrong I may not smoke now but I did for over ten years So I know both sides of the question Why I quit smoking is of course my own business It isn’t important to anyone except me arose--segregatio- Campus criminals? the chemical plant For awhile smoking was allowed in most areas where there were no area but some aside people either forgot or ignored the smoking areas and soon they smokers The library Business and others flammables Gradually some were smoking where there was a real danger A couple of small fires brought down the wrath of the company down on everyone non-smoke- rs ng pt non-smok- er non-smok- er non-smok- pam taylor bill wilson russ martineau preston peterson tom caswell annabel grubb cathey dunn photographers jim holihan al reiner jerry joe may jeff brough jim mccullough ted hansen al rau staff writers eve mary verde lucy thomas randall hendricks celeste Carlisle bill murray duward bean fati marjani nanette larsen larry monroe sondi limthongkul marilyn smith john weaver STUDENT LIFE is the official publication of Utah State University and is written and edited by students EDITORIAL POLICY is soley the responsibility to of the editorial staff The editor can reserve the right to refuse any publication at his discretion EDITORIAL OPINIONS are soley those of the editor and those writers with signed articles LETTER POLICY The editor reserves the right to edit refuse or print any letter Student numbers must be signed with letter Published during the school year by the Associated Students of USU Editorial offices University Center 315 business office University Center 317 Printed by the Box Elder News and Journal Brigham City Entered as second class postage at University Station Logan Utah 84321 Subscription rates $6 per year $2 per quarter Correspondence should be addressed to PO Box 1249 tri-week- Police changeover: a terry gilson chief reporters ly The UC building could be already hass aside 0t t lounge area set r Old Mai could areas set aside for smoking If every building had t designated smoking area & smokers would have a place to and the could avtsi it if they wished go ers V Of course when I first mthe idea to some friends! received the old complaint “Why should I be exiled to someara when I want to smoke" entioned The answer is in the sentence of this column right to smoke ends where nose begins You stay out areas and non-smoki- out of the smoking Private first Y® my of the I’U stay areas ?
