lists the historical and political geography of Latin America as his mam field of interest Canner has taught in Michigan Indiana and Illinois and is working toward his doctorate degree at Wayne State University He and his wife Ileen have one child Dr Klaus J Hansen received an apointment as assistant professor of history after filling a replacement position at USU last year He graduated from Brigham Young University with his BA and MA degrees and received his PhD from Wayne State University Dr Hansen recently completed book “Quest for Empire” which is concerned with the role of the conduct its annual recruiting drive They will arrive on campus Oct 3 and begin recruiting Oct 5 A team of four will be available at a booth in the Union n Building concerning any about the Peace Corps They will administer a language appitude test and make available brochures describing the Corps and application forms infoi-matio- The four plan to speak to classes dormitories fraternities A Peace campus organizations Corps film will also be shown during the week During the first six years of the Corps existance 44 USU students volunteered According to Peace Corps figures last spring 8 former USU students were assigned to Africa 20 to Latin America 16 to N Africa Asia and the Far East “I’ve never had my ego inflated as I've had it here in Columbia as a rural community development Volunteer” said former T'SU graduate Frank Alexander Mr Alexander graduated from USU in 1965 and majored in Political Science “It was a challenge to bring something to these people that was so new to
