Show STUDENT APPOINTMENTS WHEIRE-THEA”- - LIFE' LOGAN UTAH SHINES MONDAY INCREASE SHOWN ARE ANNOUNCED I ' --r—t 21 Announcement has been made by the Utah State Agricultural college of the appointment to the college faculty of George T Blanch as associate professor of agricultural economics Grant Bowen consulting landscape architect C L Forellng professor of forestry D Irvin Rasmussen assistant professor of Wild Life management Cruz Venstrom assistant professor of agricultural economics Wilford L Hansen inil structor in forestry and range Stark Instructor In horticulture and Andrew Lee Christensen instructor in geology and Major Joseph D Brown who places Lt Col Cars W- Waller in i Under the direction of Professor A Pedersen Professor ChesJ Myers and Mrs Ruth Moench Bell the department will be one of the most Important schools at the institution Wallace A Goates who has done ' much to make a name for the department is now on leave of abscence the coming year doing post graduate work at Iowa State College Many students participate in some form of dramatic activity Drama has given more opportunity for student participation than any other activity on the campus except intramurals At the present time the Utah State College is absolutely upsurpassed anywhere in the state in the teaching and presentation of drama and allied Its list of plays and subjects subsequent approval surpasses ary other college Subsidary to the speech depar'-meris the Utah State Litt’e Theatre the only successful organized Little Theatre in this re gion This organization has won for itself during the nine years of its operation a name known fron coast to coast Last year’s productions included: "The Far Off Hills" “Counselor-At-Law- ” "Michael and Mary" The Late Christopher Bean" “Another Language” and “Much Ado About Nothing" A tentative list of the same number of plays for the next season is now under consideration and will be announced early In September —— — N ter I'M the military department Professor Blanch comes directly to the college from the staff of the department' of agricultural at Cornell lift )m If university BS degrees at the local institution In the faU of 1931 be entered Cornell university where he has been engaged in graduate work and in pursuing investigations in land utilization for the New York Experiment station He will do both teaching and inwork at the colvestigational lege ' The- - new consulting landscape architect Grant Bowen has already begun his new duties and will continue in this capacity through the coming summer and winter In addition to his new duties Mr Bowen is in charge of the grounds at the State Capital He is a graduate of the college in the class of 1925 -
