Pleased With Recent Roundabout Vote Dear Editor, Will miracles never cease? The city council came to an agreement and even accepted the recommendation of Mayor Evans for once, and I was there to witness it. It was the RIGHT thing to do and I hope this is one decision that they will stand by and not change again in the next council meeting, saying they didnt understand what they were agreeing on. Three council members are up for reelection. Politics have been the order of the day with this council, along with confusion, mind changing and so often disregarding the will of the people of Payson. We need to remember this whole scenario and all that has been done by this council and see if we cant get people in there that will work with the mayor to manage the growth and maintain things of value for us in this community. So much has been written about the troubles in California and the expectation of another influx of people moving to Utah from there, and they want to move to more rural towns and get out of the crowds. Lets welcome them but still maintain our individuality as a community. Helen Scott was praised and all who worked with her on the Scottish Festival. They should have been, because it was a great success. The Salmon Supper is coming up and we should all support it. Mayor Evans mentioned that 72 young people and small children are signed up on the horsemanship program and volunteers are to be commended for that. The Band Concerts will be held each Sunday evening and that is a good way to spend a Sunday evening in the park and free of charge. Thanks to the City Council on your decision to put a stop or stop light at the comer of 800 South and Main Street. It is my hope that the drivers will drive with extra caution there and keep it that way, so this council or a future one doesnt come up with that Phi Kappa-Ph- i At Weber State Marian Nielsen, daughter of Ted and Joann Nielsen of Payson earned her Masters of Education at Weber State University in commencement exercises on May 9, 2003. Commencement exercises were conducted in the Dee Events Center in Ogden. Marian qualified for Phi honors.
