He is the son of Donnie and Julie Welch of Elk Ridge. Elder Welch will be speaking in the Elk Ridge lsl Ward on Sunday, June 8, 2003, at 9:00 a.m. He will leave for the MTC in Brazil on Tuesday, June 10. ! I s ;8Iak Elder Derik Welch has been 1 f temple Amber M. Spangler and Aaron Tarin will be married June 6, 2003, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Amber is the daughter of Robert and Karen Spangler of Payson, Utah. She is a graduate of Payson High School and is currently employed at Qcomm, Inti., in Orem. Aaron is the son of Jose and Ovidia Tarin of Pleasant Grove, Utah. He graduated from Delta High School and served an LDS Mission to Mexico City, Mexico. He is curat B YU. The couple will rently employed at GNC in Pleasant Grove and is studying pre-lamake their first home in Lindon. They will be honored at a garden reception that evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at 368 South 300 West in Payson. All family and friends are invited to celebrate with them. w Phi Delta Cultus Club By Alice Lazenby Young Womanhood Award Katherine Alaya Keele is the daughter of Steve and Kns Keele. Katherine directed the Primary nativity for the Ward Christmas Party. She put together her brothers' missionary scrapbooks. She also devoted many hours taking music and drama lessons to improve X 4 her talents. On Thursday, May 22nd, the Phi Delta Cultus Club met together at Robin Laenbys home and enjoyed a Hawaiian Luau. The Club was enjoying its Annual Club Birthday Party and Elections Evening. The Hostesses for the evening were Robin and Andra Lazenby. The Luau Menu included: Luau Pork, Fried Rice, BroccoliRaisin Salad, a Fresh Fruit Plate with mangos, strawberries, and pineapples, and a cool, refreshing slush. With relaxing island music, bright, inviting leis, and a nice cool breeze, the club enjoyed a relaxing evening together. The topics for the evening included: reminding club members to drop off any garage sale items to Andra Lazenbys home. She will be storing them in her garage until the garage sale that will be held in the parking lot across from Zions Bank on Saturday, June 7,h. If anyone has any items to be picked up, please contact either Marly or Andra Lazenby. The Club is sponsoring this garage sale to raise funds for the Relay for Cancer Walk that is being held in the Memorial Park on Friday and Saturday, June 20,h and 2 Is'. Cancer affects everyone. Whether you have a friend, a relative, or a close friend that has cancer. This disease has touched everyone. We encourage you to support this special event. It is to raise funds to help find a cure for this disease. The other dinner topic included elections for our new officers. The results were: for next years president, Andra Lazenby; for next years vice president, Kathleen Reilly; for treasurer, Judy Robbins; and for reporter, Alice Lazenby. For any one interested in joining our club for the next year, please contact one of these ladies. A reminder that there will be a Sumopen Fridays from 9 a m. to 5 p m. mer Party coming up in June, and the club Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p m. Keele, son of Steven and Kristine Keele, was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout in a Court of Honor ceremony held April 27, 2003. He is a member of r ' y BSA Troop 92, sponsored by the Payson 2nd Ward. Joshua's Eagle project involved the collection, cleaning, and sorting of prescription eyeglasses for the needy in Mexico. During a three-mont- h period, Joshua collected nearly ,000 pairs of glasses!
