July 23, 1997, Page 5 Allene Stott Clayson To Celebrate 80th Birthaay On Monday Ira Waite Leaving For LDS Mission In Portugal Allene Stott Clayson will celebrate her 80th birthday on Monday, July 28, 1997. Allene was born July 28, 1917, in Meadow, Millard County, Utah. She married LaVar Clayson on August 26, 1939. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on March 14, 1941. Allene is an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints. She has served as a Primary and Sunday School teacher and is currently serving as Relief Society visiting teaching supervisor. Allene likes to walk, make bread, and puts up her fruits, vegetables and jam. Back on the farm in Meadow, she was an avid horsegirl. For her 80th birthday, Allene wants to take a horseback ride up in Ira Waite, son of Cleve and Joyce Waite, will be leaving for the Portugal Porto Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints on August 6, 1997. Elder Waite will give his farewell address on July 27 at 10:50 a.m. in the Mountain View 5th Ward, 650 East 500 North, Payson. All are invited to attend. Bruin Turns 50 Its your 50th birthday. Allene has four children: Valden LaVar Clayson of West Valley City, Utah; Kayleen Clayson, Payson, Utah; Vernetta Clayson, Tempe, Arizona; and Rosann Clayson, Payson. and 2 She has 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildre- n, Meeting at Richs a few times a day. Reminiscing about life and deciding where to play. Whether hunting, fishing, or fun at the golf course. Theres one thing for sure, hell develop a charlie horse. Eight years as a councilman shows us he really does care. And his talents are many as we all are aware. Playing musical instruments, hes one of the best In entertaining his family and other guests. So, happy number fifty. You make us all proud! And at this time we say, "We love you" out loud!! We will be open at our new location, 190 East 100 North, on Friday, July 25th Store Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Austin Henry has a magnificent writing collection housed at the Peteet-neMuseum. It consists of writing equipment from the Cave Man down to the present. Henry has spent a lifetime putting this collection together. The Smithsonian in Washington. D.C., wanted it in their collection but Henry wanted it here in Payson where he could help demonstrate and show it. It is one of the loves of his life and he takes great pride in it. If you haven't seen it, put it on your list as a must to see. Some of the items I love are: Brigham Youngs pen and ink well metal and crystal glass: a Jewish candlestick and paper which rolls in a box. both forward and backward: pens and watches of many railroads; items from the Civil Wan Louisa Mae Allcott items (Henry is a relative of the Allcott family): many beautiful Egyptian items: items from Japan and China: pens and inkwells et gold-color- ed hand-writte- from U.S. presidents 465-926- 8 - n Truman. Roosevelt. Coolidge. etc: braille items, and eaily Indian items. Henry has also donated tovs for the child's exhibit in the Victorian Room, and javks. maibles. a teacher's point stick and window opener in the School Room. He just brought in some antique police items that w ill go on display in November with the Outlaw Exhibit. He also brought it. some mining items that are interesting. Because Austin has collected all kinds of items over a ast number of ears, he is very know ledge-abl- e about a great number of tilings. He alwavs weais a smile and has a happy disposition.
