Show JJapan Scout Pace dUironicle Thursday July 26, 1979, page 6 Genola scouts earn Eagles Genola Gems by Virginia Shepherd Richard and Dayona Williams of Aloha, Oregon, and 4 children visited with friends here Thursday. They are former members of our community and reported they see Elder Terry Kerby from here quite often. Thursday morning. Merlin Sheperd returned home from spending two weeks in Sacramento, California with his cousin Jeff Morrelli. Our community grew by two this last week, when Mr. and Mrs. Nelson were Stuart blessed with a tiny baby boy, and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Davenport also were presented with a new son. This is the Nelson's first child and the Davenports have four boys and four girls to welcome the new addition. to Congratulations both of the lucky families. Mr. and Mrs. Max Nelson had their son Reed and his family here for a visit this week. They are from Moab. They also had Mrs. Sylvia Furin and son Mark from Pennsylvania here visiting. They were here to witness a sealing in the Temple of a couple that Mark had baptized while on his mission. Mr. David Kellin of is here California his with visiting and uncle family, the Glendon Taylors. Mr. and Mrs. Randy Ewell and son were here visiting with the Arlin Ewell family. Our Homecoming celebration was a big success Saturday with a lively parade leading the way. Winners in the different were: categories Theme, Future Farm Wives of America, Most work, Future Most Treasures; The Imaginative, Garner Childrens float; Best car, Jr. Senior Kesters; Citizens, Buggy with Sr. Citizens in, driven Murdoch; Elroy by Jr. Division, The Old with Times, Sam The Flag Ceremony came next with Pauline Gurr singing the National Draper. anthem, then a lovely followed program, by games, races and a ball game in the afternoon. That night a rodeo was held with a lot of action being shown, both in the Jr. Sr. and Division. We would like to thank all of those who worked so hard to make this occasion such an enjoyable one. Mr. and Mrs. Reese Murdock were here for the weeekend, they will be moving back and purchasing the Layne Murdock home. Friday and Saturday, the R.L. Shepherds attended the Shepherd Family Reunion that was held at the Payson Park. Group leaders are Betty and Sara Mosher of Genola, of Annette Taylor Santaquin, and Nancy and Ross Bradford of Goshen.
