It was a special day Thursday at the Santaquin City Library when three Eagle Scouts from Bountiful came to present 48 hard bound books to the Library in honor of Cal D. Armstrong who was killed last August" at a Camporee in Pennsylvania. The boys were David Pratt, Rodney Nelson and Darrin Baird from Bountiful Troop 669. Mrs. Robert Pratt, mother of David, brought the boys to make the presentation. The boys worked hard to raise the money for these special books as a Scout Service Project. They gathered pop bottles and sold them to raise the money it took to have these books bound. The books are called Personal Fitness. A small plaque was also presented to Mrs. Howard Armstrong, mother of Cal. The plaque read In memory of Cal D. Armstrong, an Eagle Scout, who was struck by lightning in August 1977. The group was treated to dinner at the Santa Queen Drive-i- n and then went to the West park to see the tree recently planted and the monument in honor of Cal. They also went to the cemetery to the gravesite. Others in the group to see the presentation were City Recorder, Nadine Alexander; Robert Armstrong, brother of Cal; Mrs. Alice Armstrong, grandmother of Cal; Della Hudson, reporter; and Lillian Burraston, a friend. Principal Harold Hawker completed the assembly by giving certificates to those students tor perfect attendance: Ronald Ashton.
