When they were newlyweds, they had their first apartment in Spanish Fork. Clint had gone to Fort Ord, California, for basic training in tlie Army only a few weeks after the wedding. Anne, a stranger to this area, got her first teaching position (first grade) at Taylor School. She drove to Payson immediately to "look over" the town and see the school. fell in love with Payson especially the little Main Street with the pretty green mountain scene at the south end of the street," she said. "It reminded me of my hometown (Sheridan, "I Wyoming) and I was very homesick then." Clint spent most of his growing-up years in Spanish Fork on a ranch near Sheep Canyon-Creek. Anne found a place to rent (the old Binning Apt.) and moved from he Fork. When Clint returned finished college at B.Y.U. In December that same year, a second daughter, Raelyn, was bom. They made some close friendships at Mountain View, but in their hearts still preferred to live in Utah. In 1964, Clint got a job teaching seminary in Payson. They returned that summer to Payson and have stayed ever since. Clint began teaching (in the science and math department) at the junior high (1966). He is still there today. The family added three more sons: Guy (1965), Dan (1967), and Neil (1973). Through the years, Anne stayed home. When their youngest, Neil, entered kindergarten, she began a preschool in their home. This began in 1979 and continued for ten years. At this time, they sold their home on the Salem Canal Road and moved to a condominium on 300 South in Payson (built by Clint and sons). Not having facilities for a preschool, Anne began another part-tim- e job at the Robbins Care Center where her mother fives. "I loved my preschool so much but discovered a new joy in caring for the elderly," Anne said. She is the Recreation Person for Robbins. "It is most gratifying," she also commented. Clint and Anne both enjoy camping out. They have also taken some memorable trips attogether. While Clint was serving as Nebo Education Association president, they tended conventions and workshops in San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, and New Orleans. "We loved this place," they said. "It brought our hearts and minds to those Mormon pioneers, and we will always feel a deeper gratitude, now, for them." At times, Clint and Anne find the best way to relax and still have a night out is to attend a symphony concert or some other musical production.
