PCT Review by Carin Green History repeats itself again! Payson Community Theatre has a reputation for performing plays that are professional in nature, and they have continued this tradition. Also, the play, Saturdays Warrior, was a success the first time, and its success continues with this years P.C.T. production. Emotions run high during the whole performance-o- ne minute laughing, and the next crying. The directing techniques of Douglas Jolley were refreshing and insightful. Jolley brought the best out of the actors and actresses alike. There were different aspects added to the play, some not seen before. During the airport scene as Julie says goodbye to her missionary, Elder Wally Kestler, he asks her to wait. Her reply in song, "Will I Wait For You? was originally designed for the girls to sing to the elders, but a new twist is added as a young man answers his female missionary, Will I Wait For You? The Elders, played by Todd Brewster as Wally Kestler and Richard Hodson as Harold Greene, were outstanding, Richard's "nerdy behavior of Elder Greene and his antics of growing confident kept the audience on their toes with laughter, Todd made Kestler come alive through his ego getting in his way, yet learning the principle of humility at the leadership of Greene. The whole audience seemed to think, I know someone like that in real life. Gina Christensen did an excellent job portraying Julie Flinders. Julie is the girl who betrays Kestler, breaks off her engagement three days before the wedding, and again forgets Kestler as he brings her "one and only home to her. Another outstanding and professional performer was Steve Poulson, who plays Mack, the friend who leads Jimmy Flinders away from his family. He brought a depth and degree of personality to the character that many could relate to. His voice and dance ability were outstanding. Nathan Palmer, who played Jimmy Flinders, seemed to live his part as he showed the struggle, the strength, and the love his character needed to portray. Pam, the sentimental and lovely twin to Jimmy, posed budget. 9- Next Meeting Date. 10- To consider other business that might properly come before said meeting. Tod, portrayed by Don Richardson, carried his part well throughout the play with his singing and his ability to communicate through acting. He brought out the best of the character through his struggle to find himself. The Matron, played by Sally Hopkinson, and Emily, played by Lynsie Dunford, were an excellent duo as the life was exhibited. Lynsie gave a winning performance as the sister who didnt want to be forgotten, and the Sally as the organizer and the comforter with a shoulder to cry on displayed the motherly qualities quite well. The Flinders family, Elmo and Cheryl Keck as Mr. and Mrs. Flinders, were very real as they portrayed the loving parents. The children, Benjy, played by Nathan Dunford, Alice by Meredith Johnston, Ernie by Joel Thomas, and Shelly by Anmaree Osmond were excellent in the rivalry, love and understanding they gave during their had the audience believing they were a real family. The dancers were an asset to the show with their precision and quality dancing. Chariot Lee Sorensen as choreographer Is to be complimented. The chorus added a great support to the main characters with their singing. Cathy Johnston, Music Director, brought out the best in the chorus. The sound, lighting, and other technical support was well done. The combo orchestra added just the finesse as a whole orchestra would. The play was well done and excellent in its performances and professionalism. The play continues through and at September 7:30 p.m. at the Payson High Auditorium. The play appeals to every age group and would be worth taking the whole family. pre-eart- h perfor-mances-th- 3-- 7-- 5 (Eljnmtcle South Main or P.O.
