The Payson Lions and Orem Tigers battled to a scoreless tie Friday nigtit. This was one game where everyone was on the edge of their seats all the time. Each team crossed their opponents line only once. The Lions received the opening kickoff on their own 22. In four plays (three of them first downs) the ball was on Orems line. However, the Tigers tightened up and tiie drive ended on the nine, short of a first down. At the end of the half, Payson had five first downs to Orems two. Of the third quarters fifteen minutes close to nine of these drive were consumed in a by Orem. During this time, the Lions never lost their cool, and prevented a touchdown. You will find it quite interesting. The precast stone and concrete walls are up and the roof is now being placed. It would have been much further along except it has been difficult to obtain the large laminated beams from the factory on time. Another interesting program has been made possible by a minor remodeling project at the Payson Middle School this summer. It is a team teaching program developed and designed by two teachers, Glen Poulsen and Douglas Houghton, language arts teachers at that school. A wall was removed and the resulting combined rooms were carpeted. This gives adequate space and sound control to enable the two teachers to combine their classes for the team approach The counseling area at the Spanish Fork High School has also been remodeled to accommodate a new concept in counseling. The new plan conceived by counselors, John Jensen and Larsen, will provide a walk-i- n center where multiple types of information will be available to students. It is hoped this will improve past methods which relied almost entirely on an interview situation. The Lake Shore School has been another interesting project this summer and is almost completed now. Major remodeling provides more open space and increased the useable area available to students by almost 40 per cenL Because of the condition of the old walls, they will be covered with carpet. This provides a pleasing economical way of covering patched surfaces in old buildings and gives it Gen-ivie- ve ten-ya- rd rd Antlers from a large bull elk bagged by City Councilman and Nebo Stake President PhilJonesonaLaborDay weekend archery hunt in Colorado were so immense they stretched right of the Chronicle Photo photograph. 16-pl- ay Jones Bags Big Colorado Elk With Bow Phil The hunt of a lifetime is Nebo Stake President and Payson City Councilman Phil Jones described a Labor Day weekend archery hunting expedition in Colorado where he bagged a nearly half ton bull elk.
