Show THE PAYSON Honored on Thursday, July 15, 1971 83rd birthday Open house on golden wedding Mrs. Ella Spencer was honby members of her family when she celebrated her 83rd birthday, Sunday, at a gathering held at the home of her son. Sterling Leon (Bus) Spencer, and wife of West Payson. Mrs. Spencer was born July ored 7, at 1888, The children of Mr. and Mrs. Christensen will hold an open house honoring their parents on their Golden Wedding at the home of their parents, 161 North 500 East, Salem, Utah on Sunday, July 18 from 1 to 4 p.m. All reatives and friends are invited to attend. No gifts please. Mr. and Mrs. Christensen were married July 19, 1921 in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They are the parents of six children: Mr. Lawrence Christensen (deceased); Mrs. Eldon (Shirley) OBryant, Bothell, Washington; Mrs. Walter (Gloria) Richardson, Forest Grove, Oregon; Mrs. William (Pearl Marie) Bufton, Spanish Fork; Mrs. Dan (Vivian) Winnie, Springville, Utah; and Mrs. Neal (Joan) Thorpe, Salem. They have 22 and 5 greatgrandchildren A. F. (Short) Fairview, Sanpete Co. She married John Henry Spencer, Feb. 18, 1908, at Provo. He died Oct. 23, 1949. They lived in Eureka and moved to Payson in 1941. They are the parents of three children, and have 8 grand children and one great from 7 until oclock to honor Mr. and Mrs. William (Bill) Laird on the occasion of their golden wedding anniversary. on 10 $ married grandchild. 4-- H The open house will be held at their residence at 485 North Main in Payson. Friends and relatives are invited to attend. The couple request no gifts. Information July is the month for y camps and trips. The camp and the overnight camp have already been held. But there is a bus tour on July members 1 for all over 14 years of age and the Annual Better Youth Day for the same age group on July 26. The bus tour leaves the Extension Office in Provo at 8:00 a.m. July 20 and arrives home about 6:00 p.m. July 21. The tour will be made to Vernal with interesting sights and fun things to do along the route. The group will stay overnight at the Armory in Vernal. Cost of the tour is $11.00 plus money for two meals. Reservations H one-da- Better A Committee. music, barbeque, games, and a program will be featured. The days activities will begin at 2:00 p.m. Cost of the day is $1.00. Reservations may be made with the Extension Office or a member of the committee. Further information on these events may be obtained from leaders and supervisors. Trips and meetings like these are usually outstanding. She was employed in the Curtis Hospital for about 2 years and later worked for a period of 12 years in the Payson City Hospital. She enjoys cooking and sewing as hobbies. In a lovely ceremony on June eleventh in the Manti LDS Temple Miss Linda Stewart, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Stewart, Spanish Fork, and Kris Scott Christensen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wilson, Payson were united in marriage. - Just One Year Old - honored the reception at the Palmyra Stake Center. Bridesmaids were Miss Sheila Christensen, Miss Kay Swenson, Miss Elaine Roach, Miss Sandra Stewart, Miss Lori Wilson, Miss Anna May Stewart and Miss Mary Lyn Stewart. The bridegroom is employed as a drafting engineer for Ford Motor Co. in Detroit, Michigan, where the couple plan to make their home. Prenuptial parties were given by Elaine Roach and Kay candidate.
