Show Payson Lions begin practice for spring sport activities by Gary Warren The Payson Lions have begun practice for the spring athletic season. The coaches and players are working hard in track, baseball, golf and tennis. It will be Walker Bank Night with the Stars" this Thursday, March 25, as the Utah Stars battle the Texas Chaparrals in a crucial contest in the Salt Palape. Not only will the game have a great deal of bearing on the ABA western division race, but the fans will have the opportunity to win many valuable prizes as well in a special promotional sponsored by one of the Stars radio sponsors. The Stars still are in a heated battle with the Indiana Pacers for first place honors in the western division race, but the game is just as important for the Chaps who are trying to wrest away a playoff berth from the Denver Rockets. And, of course, anytime the Stars play Texas former Stars Donnie Freeman and Wayne Hightower, traded away in a controversial deal in early January, always seem to have a little something extra going for them. The Stars obtained the services of Glen Combs and Ron Boone in the transaction. Walker Bank is offering $1 discount tickets for the game at all of its branches and will be giving away over 200 ABA red, white and blue basketballs to lucky youngsters in special drawings. In addition the bank will have a special halftime free throw shoot in which savings accounts will be awarded. The Stars will close out regular season play at home on Tuesday, March 30, when they play host to the New York Nets and the sensational Rick Barry. two-stat- rodeo e Two Utah Technical College coeds will reign over the comte regional intercoling legiate rodeo at Spanish Fork this Friday and Saturday, according to Russell Black, faculty adviser for the Utah Tech rodeo team which is sponsoring the meet. two-sta- Pleasant Barbara Taylor, Grove, will be queen, and Von-d- a N. However if some animal psychologist has an explanation for me, Id like to hear it. Lets get back to our terms.
