Most of us have furniture, plants and paintings those things that we have learned to love in our Annual farmers 6 convention 15-1- ZOO STO Roy L. Holman, President of the Utah-IdaFarmers Union, announced that the Eighteenth Annual Convention would convene for two days, January 15 and 16 at the Ramada Inn, Salt Lake City. In making the announcement Mr. Holman stated that this will be a work session. In past years the state program and resolutions has been put together by a committee made up of farmers from throughout the area representing each commodity. This year the committee will meet to put the program together on Friday, January 15th and will be a part of the convention. An outstanding slate of speakers have been scheduled including. Senator Frank E. Moss; Congressman, Orville Hansen, (Idaho); Flossie Nickel, Director Education, National Farmers Union; and Dr. Blue Carstenson, National Director of the Green Thumb. A luncheon will be held Friday at noon in honor of Governor Calvin L. Rampton. The luncheon speaker will be Clyde Jarvis, President of Montana Farmers Union. The Saturday night banquet speaker wiU be Tony T. Dechant, President National Farmers Union. Mr. Holman stated that farmers have ho Regardless of handicaps, a fellow likes to make friends at the Zoo. In this case, its Marty Mim Mack, 1971 March of Dimes National Poster Boy, at the Fleishacker Childrens Zoo in San Francisco. Marty lives in Santa Clara, 30 miles away. I dig animals, Marty says. And its obvious that he does. The only trouble is, I can never make up my mind whether I like the big ones better or the little ones. The big ones make you feel so little but, boy! wouldnt it be fun to have a trunk like an elephant?" Unable to decide, Marty impartially distributed goodies to as much of the animal kingdom as were on hand. As Poster Boy, Marty stands for some 250,000 born annually in this country with significant birth defects. He also toured the country last year on behalf of the March of Dimes. With your help," says veteran campaigner Marty, "we can do a lot to prevent birth defects. But how should we arrange them in harmony with the decor of our room. Mr. and Mrs. B. Davis Evans have gathered these beloved treasures together into a harmonious grouping. The theme of the living room is western with a western desert mural covering the north wall. The east wall is paneled in surf wood and was barren of any decorative effect, the artist chose to use eight objects and form them into a pleasing effect. The objects he chose ranged in age from a few months to far back into the 19th century. The old clock that has ticked away the minutes for nearly 100 years. The second Object placed in the design was his grandfathers old double-barrelshotgun. The shell of a turtle at least 20 years old was placed on the ed stereo and above it he hung a cows horr. in which a small bouquet of heather was placed. To balance the turtle shell, a beautifully arranged plant added to the western motif. For an area in the living room that had the blahs, a huge wicker basket was placed and atop it was placed a green plant. Above this arrangment hung a gold framed mirror reflecting the beauty of the room. their backs against the wall and they need to do more for themselves than they have done in the past. Becoming active in a major farm organization is one of the best self-hel- p programs in which a farmer can become involved. Mr. Holman urged all farmers and ranchers to avail themselves of this opportunity to participate in planning his own future. The above chart, prepared by the Safe Winter Driving League, summarizes results of braking ability tests conducted by the National Safety Council's Committee on Winter Driving Hazards at Stevens Point, Wis. These tests, using various types of tires and chains on the rear wheels, disclose that conventional snow tires are of no help in stopping on glare ice. They say that a woman to be well groomed wears a perfume morning, noon and night. In my color analysis I give the perfumes that are suitable for the season in which you belong; We know our body chemistry makes your choice a very individual process. In other words, what is good for one, is not necessarily your cup of tea. Girls, not only does the perfume add femininity to your charms, but according to a Mr. Paul Woog, a Swiss watchmaker, perfume halts time! Watchmakers for years have been myses tified because some womans small will run for years without trouble but put the same watch on another woman and it stops after wearing it only a few hours. It seems a watchmaker named Robert was laughed at when he proclaimed that personal smells would stop a watch. It took years for our Mr. Woog to prove it for Robert. Mr. Woog finds that the wearers habitual perfume is very easily taken up by oil The perfume molecules gather in a thin invisible film on the oil surface and when this happens to the lubricating oil in a watch the watch stops. So to you who gathers perfume, watch that oil unless of course, youre in a moment when life is so wonderful that to hold on to that one moment you must stop time! Happy perfuming!
