Kearns High Outstanding "Up, Up And Man Of The Year Away Named It would appear that Kearns High, after three years pion- Steven Larsen, 3654 West 3965 South was named outstanding young Man of the Year by eering to get to the top, is up, up and away. Recently in one week, it won its swimming meet, debate meet, basketball games for sophomores, junior varsity and varsity teams, and the Voice of Democracy contest in the the Granger Jaycees. He is president of the Granger of recognizing this spring. MARIANNE STEIN SPILKER NEW OFFICERS ELECTED AT Male Teacher of the Week at Kearns High is Donald W. Spilker who teaches German to freshman through senior classes at the school in the Oquirrhs. Mr. Spilker has his bachelor of arts degree from Brigham Young University and has also attended the University of Utah. He was formerly a member of the United POST held 18 January 1969 at Holla-da- y Post 71 in Salt Lake City. Newly elected officers are: Ted R. Johnson, Salt Lake City, President; Bernard Moriarty, Salt Lake City, 1st Vice President; Carl Parkinson, Kearns, 2nd Vice President; Darrell Loveland, Brigham City, 3rd Vice President; L.M. Francis, Salt Lake City, Treasurer; and the following are the Board of Directors: ClarkCheney, Kays-vill- States Air Force for four years. He spent 2 12 years in Germany and 2 years in Japan. His language mastery covers German, Spanish, and some Japanese. Mr. Spilker also worked for Sperry. He is married ans has three children. This Fund will insure the continuation without interruption of Girl Scouting in our area. The Trust Fund Committee is headed by Frank K. Bartlett, Jr. of Ogden as Chairman. A medical self help and American Red Cross standard first aid course will be offered free of charge on March 6 from 8 to 10 p.m. A photography club open to amateurs and professionals, including beginners, will begin on March 28.
