As talk of Incorporation for Kearns grows stronger, members of the Kearns Town Council were pleased to receive a paper dated Julv 18, 1943, from Mrs. Donna Hagblom which told of Kearns first year of growth and its achievements on its first birthday. Larry Tracy, youth and sports chairman for the Jaycees, announces that the contest will be In two classes - - Class 1: Fifth and Sixth Graders. Class 2: Third and Fourth Graders. The Marble Tournament will be held on June 14th and 15th beginning at 9 a.m. Location Is the lot of the Kearns Community Swimming Pool at 5624 South 4800 W. The Tournament will be held on June 21 at 9 a.m. at the same location. Prizes will be awarded to the first three finalists in each group. Prizes Include Little League baseball bats, baseballs, swim suits and theater tickets. L. Brent Christensen, recreation director of Service Area No. 1, announces that entry is free of charge. In addition to clubhouse for the courts, the building will be available for meetings of community groups, first aid classes, possible dark room and Brent hobby facilities. Christensen will serve as rec- reation director. The grounds to be planted in grass and shrubs, will also have areas for volley ball, badminton and horseshoe games. Scouts Hold Largest Scoutarama ch -- 298-38- 44 as thousands of Utah cubs, boy scouts and explorers displayed crafts, gave exhibitions of skills and staged historical scenes for parents and visitors.
