Mr. Ashby dug the Kalua pit Thursday night and jiut a 11 lb. rolled roast of beef in the white hot coals and then covered the entire pit with dirt. On Friday after everyone had arrived, they all went and dug up the meat, steamy hot and swimming in its own juices. In addition to the Kaluaed beef, they enjoyed baked potatoes and sour cream, corn on the cob, rolls, salad and 'Laurel Grants fabulous chocolate nut cake. The Kalua served the double purpose of a farewell party for Carol Liddle, who is leaving to go to school at the BYU, and a last goodbye to summer.
