KAY Ever since I was a little boy I've been an avid reader of Science Fiction tales. I followed Flash Gordon religiously and vicariously took trips with him to outer space. My big ambition for the last 30 years has been to take a trip to the moon. But alas and alack, a news article the other day has all but shattered my dreams of journeying to the moon. It was almost heartbreaking to read tiat the suit worn by the astronaut on his trip through outer space cost about $4,000, This nat urally has precluded my trip through outer space, let alone to the moon. Just figure it out The travelling suit you wear to get there costs $4,000. This is rock bottom cost, because as a rule you wear your old clothes you travel in. They wrinkle up and you usually end up with ice cream stains and cigarette bums in them. So when you get to the moon you should change into something more decent and better looking. And you cant wear the same clothes to golf in so there goes a few more thousand dollars for another suit. dont have to tell you what it costs to keep them in clothes. They wont be on the moon ten minutes before they wear holes in their knees and get an air leak. At least when you get half way to the moon and time stands still so perhaps they wont grow out of their clothers so fast Thats a small consolation to say the least I So after giving it a lot ofthought, I better forego my trip to the moon. If any of you are planning a party for a trip to outer space, dont count on ma I just cant afford the wordrobe. Granger Girls Preference Dance The final dance at Granger High School will be a girls preference dance. The dance is this Friday, May 12, and it will begin at 8:30. The theme for the dance is The Last Round Up, which will b6 sung by a trio consisting of Mary-dit- h Cummings, Sheron Petersen, and Karen Bawden. Also on the floor show they plan to have a dance by Lona Given. The Pep Club is sponsoring this dance. And I would imagine there will be a dinner suit for the parties theyll have on the dark side of the moon.
