Show Page 2 Thursday, February 9, 1961 THE VALLEY VIEW NEWS HONORING Letters to the Editor Mr. Editor. This letter is directed to the people who at the recent hearing on sidewalks stated that we needed recreation more than sidewalks by bringing up a matter which by - no means was related to the hear ing. Where were these people when the other two meetings were held to discuss the sidewalks? Where are these people when the Recreation Foundation meets to improve recreation in Kearns? Are these people willing to help in the endless research and repotting needed to plan the Civic Center? Where were they when the Founders Day celebration had to be cancelled because of lack of help? Where are all of these people when the Town Council meets to help improve our town? Lets see all of you eager beavers out to a few of these meetings with your helping hands ready to work. Respectfully, Respjectfully, LaRetta Cunningham 5319 Heath A,re. ed Mr. Editor: An article in the Salt Lake Tribune called to my attention the proposed building of a frailer court in the Western Hills area of Kearns. It is my opinion that this sort of development can only hurt our town. The people of Kearns are striving to build a community of permanent citizens who have a pride in their town and want to see it prosper and improve into a community we can all be proud of. The transient families who will move in and out of a trailer Court lire not the kind of people who will help our community. They will move here and use our facilities and then move on to greener pas tures perhaps leaving our local businessmen holding the bag for unpaid bills. We Want the kind of people that the 20 to 30 thousand dollar homes that the Empire Land Co. is planning to build will attract. Kearns Orsen P.
