President C. LDS Davey of the Cannon Stake officiated. Charles Raymon Lee is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James H. Lee, 4510 W. 4865 South, Kearns. For the wedding the bride wore a mintgreen suit. She carried a bouquet of pink rosebuds and white carnations. Decorations consisted of pink carnations and chrysanthemums, and pussywillows pink candles. Miss Kay Lynn Croft was maid of honor and Arthur Simpson was best man. The wedding was attended by family members of the couple. An open house and buffet luncheon for relatives and close friends followed the ceremony. An open house in honor of the couple was held by the grooms parents the following evening at their home in Kearns. The newlyweds spent their honeymoon at Bear Lake and are making their home in Salt Lake City. All residents of Kearns are urged tc attend the Community Development Delegate Assembly Monday, May 2 at 7:30 p.m. at the Kearns Junior High. This report will be of interest to all Kearnsites, because we are all greatly concerned with the recreational needs and problems in our community, what can be done about them and what is being planned for the immediate future. This is your opportunity to give voice to your opinions on this matter. Le-lan- Now is the Time To Enter Miss Kearns Contest Attention talented misses of Kearns! Enter the Miss Kearns Contest! The deadline is nearing but there is still time to enter. If you can meet the following qualifications or know of someone who does, contact Bob Harrison, Jessie Olsen, chairman, CY CY or Darr CY Harward, for official rules and regulations. Each entrant must display a three minute talent routine such as singing, dancing, playing musical instruments, dramatic reading, art display, or dress designing, or she may give a three minute talk on the career she wishes to pursue. She may be either amatuer or professional, and will be judged on poise, personality, beauty of face and figure, character, and talent. She must be between 18 and 28 years of age, never been married, divorced or had a marriage annuled, and must have been a Kearns resident for six months or more. The judging of. this contest will be May 20, with judges being selected from outside of Kearns. 94 Rev. and Mrs. Anderson Attend Convention Rev. and Mrs. Don Anderson of the Kearns Assembly of, God will attend the I960 International Sunday Convention of the Assemblies of God in Minneapolis, Minnesota the first week of May. Over 10,000 delegates from all parts o f the world are expected to register. Outstanding speakers wil highlight the convention. The local Sunday School is conducting a loyalty campaign and Sunday, May 1, will be family day. The largest family present will be honored. Guests who will be available for discussion and questions during the evening are Paul Rose of the Salt Lake County Recreation Department; Dr. John L. Squires, University of Utah Consultant; LaMont B. Gunderson, Chairman of the County Commission; Elmer J. Hartvigsen, Granite School District Representative, and representatives from the Town Council and Recreation Foundation are invited. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rv Lee Kearns Grade Renister The Granite School District Summer Kindergarten will commence June 1, 1960, and will run until July 13. It is open to all children who wil lenter first grade next fall. The child must be six years old on or before September 15, 1960, for admittance to first grade, unless he has atended one full year of kindergarten. You will save time if you will bring the following: Physical examination form Birth certificate $1.80 for milk and crackers Milk and graham crackers are purchased for al children who desire them. The charge is $1.80 for the six weeks of school. This amount should be paid at the time cf registration. It was held at the Tay- lorsville 'Ward. Donald is a member of troop 561 of Taylorsville 4th Ward and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Rushton of 4850 So. 3200 West. His parents and three of his grandparents were there to see him receive this award. Almost 60 awards were given that night to the scouts and exStake, plorers of Taylorsville amon gthem, two Star Badges, several. 1st and 2nd Class Badges and numerous merit badges. Shelby Cook the stake leader, announces that the next stake court of honor will be held May 9th, and until further notice all future court of honors will be held at the Taylorsville Ward. Ileen Rolfe Now Mrs. Fairbourne Miss Ileen Rolfe became the bride of Courtney B. Fairbourne April 14, at the Reception Center and greeted guests after the ceremony. The former Miss Rolfe is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Newton Rolfe, 3898 So. 4800 West. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph B. Fairbourne, 1760 W. 3500 South. For the occasion the bride chose a ballerina-lengt- h gown of scalloped lace and she carried a yellow throated orchid with yellow roses. Attendants were Miss Sally Ann Bess, maid of honor, Miss Jeulene Bess, Miss Eda Lue Phillips, Miss Alice Rolfe, junior bridesmaids and Kim Hiner, flower girl. They wore embroidered yellow polished cotton frocks and carried bouquets of daffodils. Paul Fairbourne was best man and Ace Fairbourne, Vance Fairbourne and Ben Rolfe were ushers. The newlyweds are spending their honeymon in Los Angeles. They plan to make their home in Salt Lake City. Rev. Charles F. Congdon leaves Wednesday, April 27, for an ex- tended deputation trip up the West Coast. His first stop will be the Los Angeles area where he will speak at the Biola Bible College and Talbot Theological Seminary. In these schools he will be speakreing to classes in and cults and missions.
