Thayne Acord and children Judy and Dean, 4000 West and 4100 South, returned home last week after spending several days in New York City. While there they attended the Lions International Convention. They reported that the convention was held at Madison Square Gardens and was one of the best they have attended. While in New York they took a boat ride up the Hudson River, a Island, ride around Manhattan visited the Empire State Building and enjoyed an evening at Coney Island. One of the attractions was seeing the New York Yankees and the Washington Senators at play in Yankee Stadium. After attending the convention they went to Washington, D.C., where they saw the U.S. Senate in action. They visited with Senators Moss and Bennett. Before leaving Washington they went to Mt. Vernon and saw the home of President Washington. The foursome represented the Granger Lions Club. Mr. Breeze is Zone T. Chairman. clubs in the Bennion Many area are getting ready for their annual camp outing to be held in the Spruces in Big Cottonwood Canyon. Older club members, (13 and up), will leave Monday and return Tuesday night. Younger club members, (10, 11 and 12), will begin Wednesday and return home home 'Thursday. While in the canyon members enjoy hikes, handy craft, nature studies, camp fire programs, talent night, skit night, and recreation.
