hot wetness in their eyes or a sudden terribly hard lump in their throats as the map conjures up for them mem ories of harsh voices rough hand clasps or drawn faces terribly ac centuated by glinting eyes which had seen what no eyes should ever see voices handclasps and faces of men whom they had lov ed as only men facing death to gether for seeming endless eons of time could love Remembrance maps indeed are those framed pieces of paper 18 by 30 inches! in size and printed in "seven lovely pastel colors' Men of All Levels For they show the locations of 30947 graves wherein lie fallen buddies of those veterans They show where marble crosses are grouped in eight cemeteries over looked by stately battle and ceme monuments restfu by tery peaceful chapels flying the flag of the United States of America They show where lie rich men and poor honest men and thieves in land forever consecrated by their presence made holy by their sacrifices whether or not those sacrifices were in vain The remembrance maps ac cording to Mrs Henry F Baker past national president of Service Star Legion and member of American battle monuments commission were published to inform the public generally of what the American battle monuments com mission has done and to contribute to the benefit funds of service organizations ' especially for the education of the children or ex- service men monuments Eleven officials estimated The gigantic project began late In August Oil was turned into the pipe October 23 at Laramie Wyo and is flowing steadily toward its Salt Lake City terminus Working against time contractors are expected to have the job completed before the crude oil stream reaches here — flowing at the rate of 8000 barrels a day Eight contractors were assigned to lay sections of the pipe and
