Show THE BALL gie CAME the fort douglas soldiers crossed bats with the El bertas again last tuesday at the ball park in this city anil and succeeded in winning the game by one score it was a good game ame in spite of the many errors made the albertas El bertas were assisted by ay iy bill hausen of O ogden oden den behind the bat and andy jensen bensin of garland on first sack but these additions were not enough to turn the score in our favor avor and up until the eighth inning it t looked like the score would bo be 52 5 2 fanor avor of the visitors in the eighth brigham got busy and pulled in two runs which added to the one they got in the first and fifth respectively was all that could belander be beI landed the soldiers made two runs in the first one in the third and two in the fourth their playing was good the team work bein being exceptionally strong lowe was given ayen some bad support by his team mates otherwise the score might have been different erent call at second seemed to be off of his teed feed tuesday and andersen out in left garden made a bad one or two jensen in center hed field played a good game landing everything that came his way while ramshaw was there with the goods as usual he batted out a three bagger in the 1st ast and lowe did the same thing in the ath both sides took a turn at smashing the ho horsehide sahide and it was batted around good and plenty lowe did some excellent work in the ninth we were just one run behind the visitors with an inning to the good when the soldiers came up for the last time in one two order the first men up to the plate were retired with nary a hit the third victim knocked a high ball which wu was gathered in by hausen hansen and the side was out andy jensen played a splendid game at first while his little brother covered the territory out in right field very nicely it was a good game and for the errors on our part we might as a fo restated have gathered in the scalps of the boys saturday the bloomer girls will be here which means an easy time for the El bertas unless their gallantry forbids them winning out |
