aswill as will protect the innocent that in many mank cambs cases the attorney would get his bis pay of 1 1 the individual employing em him that the appointment beut would woul d ie be a valuable consideration arid and for one year a salary of would be sufficient perhaps the next year ac increasing as the city increases and arid if would not satisfy we had better have no attorney 1 I would rather give my services as counse counselor lr ac than levy a tax the people are not able to pay ay and that every man ought to be willing to help heip elp prop the city by beating a share of the have never received 25 for my services but the I 1 have enjoyed in the rights and liberties of the city has been ample compensation 1 I 1 suggested the propriety of inser tinga clause in the ordinance to be made maag relating to the city attorney authorizing him to claim fees of parties in certain cases and the small salary satisfy the attorney in in cases where be he can get no fees from his client 1 I would rather be docked in my salary than have the given to the city attorney by the city I 1 also proposed that the council counell take into consideration the payment of the police also proposed that a public meeting be called in each ward to see if the people will pay pak the police and it if they will not then the council will take the case into consideration at 1 pm the municipal
