One of the matters of business frequently being given attention in Part 2 of this meeting, is the replacement of ward teaching personnel and reassignment of companions. These changes should occupy the attention of the division supervisor and the member of the bishopric in charge of the divison when the division supervisor reports his problems in the monthly meeting of the ward committee on ward teaching. The Proper Time If these details are not completed in Ibis meeting the member of the bishopric and the division supervisor should complete these changes before going Into the ward teachers' report meeting. It is also reported, that in some Instances, the instruction that should be given in Part 1 of the ward teachers' report meeting by a member of the bishopric, is given In Part 2 of this meeting by each respective member of the bishopric in his department, ,resulting in a lack of uniform instructia in some instances. Order of Business The order of business in Part 2 of this meeting does provide for a brief word of instruction or encouragement by the member of the bishopric, but his mestage pertains largely to division probNt lems. The major part of the time, however, in Part 2 should be spent in Ihearing the reports from each pair of ward teachers and In making' special assignments. These suggestions, if followed, 'will make for smooth operation in the ward. ., , , - ' t ' I I 4 k 4 k For Business ti , 41' N t AARONIC PRIESTHOOD 11 , t f ' ' , ' ages. Because of this method o reporting, some Aaronic Pries hood leaders have become pe centagq, conscious, and as a rap suit, think and act in terms percentage, forgetting some the basic fundamentals that mak& for success. .p 111 some instances some leade rs In their eagerness to have a members of the Aaronic Pries hood maintain high percentage are using percentages as lb basis of appeal for increased tivity. It is known fact that some of slut a young men are not pleased these weekly lectures. I, The Boys Respond . It has been demonstrated and over again that owl Aaronie Priesthood leaders low the program, the boys rot spond with but little mention of percentages. L. ton Ward, Who Is Really Active in Presiding' Bishopric Calls Special Conference Meeting Adult Program? There have been some misunderstandings as- to the meaning of the term "active" as it applies to the monthly reports for adult members of the Aaronic Priesthood. The definition of the term as found in the Roll Book and on the inside cover of the Monthly Report Books for both ward and stake, and which we again here quote, should be taken very literally. This definition, of, "active" should be used carefully to de-fine the activity or inactivy of each member. It is very impartant that statistics be accurate and that all wards use the same rating scales. "Adult members of the Aaronic Priesthood who perform any Church i work whatever during the month are to be counted as "active." This is a broad statement and needs some clarification. Following is a list of 'sug-- I gestions which may be considered Church activities for these brethren: Attendance at Priesthood meeting, Sacrament meeting, Sunday School, MIA., or committee meetings; payment of tithing; contributing to Church Welfare Program either in cash or labor; engaging in service project for the benefit of others. In fine, any effort actually expended which would demonstrate the their willingness temporal or spiritual programs of the Church." Credit for activity is given for anyone or more of the above listed activities performed - during a given month. These activities may not be grouped nor may they be performed vicariously. A man who makes a financial tribution receives credit for the month in which the contribution Is made and for no other. It is Important, too, that the activity be performed personally by the member rather than by, a family member. , - I WITH THE APPROVAL of the First Presidency, the Presiding Bishopric will conduct a special meeting in the Tabernacle Friday.
