No one likes being called .a potato league when we know that we can grow young men as big and tough as anyone. eliie., With our health standards what they are and the opportunity for fresh air and fresh milk being what it is, we should be able to grow 'em bigger and tougher. Makes us wonder when a school like Arizona State with 4,578 students moves up and takes Brigham Young University, the biggest in our conference, in a little football 'skirmish. Or when Arizona can slip up on Utah and wallop the daylights out of the Utes on their own field. Take Utah State, There's one of the great teams in Utah State history. Yet it has scored one touchdown in two games, lost both affairs by ugly proportions. , It is all too apparent that Skyline teams are still suffering cut of a couple of the effects of the presidents' years ago. Other schools suffered too, but when the college leaders turned around and realized the importance of having a football team on a college campus most of the teams reco vered quickly. Ours haven't. If we had we'd be playing a little better football than we've seen this season. Poor Publicity Stunt i to date isn't going to help the season's The poor showing ticket sales any. Utah expected 20.000 for the Arizona game. T hi s is always an offensive classic. Yet only 12 479 turned out. The Colorado game on Nov. 13 and Utah State on Turkey Day will do better. That's all. The bigger schools have proved that a good football team is a wise investment, !Us economically sane to put oitt.for A little better club and rake in another $30000 bucks a game than drift along on a $10.000 outfit. If they're going to paint those bleacher seats they might as well have people sit on 'ern There's one consolationSkyline teams will get better as the season goes along.
