Thats because many of their natural enemies prowl on the ground looking for a tasty morsel. Adult squirrel monkeys seldom will weigh more than a pound. The top of their head, upper and outer parts of their body are green with a salj and pepper effect of yellow and gray spots. They have a white face while the throat, chest and under side are yellow.
