Senior, Laurel McLane said, Id like to see this kind of interactive website throughout the main Westminster site. A way to get involved on the new site is with the new polls. The polls range from questions about athletics to questions about how people like the new features on the website. At the time of publication the poll question was, Would you be interested in any of the following if available for home events? Audio streaming, video streaming, both or neither. Another new addition is free text message updates. Fisher said, Fans can sign up to receive text message updates with all the latest scores and information. Two of the most exciting features for fans are the live stats tracker and the live video feed. For home and away games the stats tracker allows fans to follow the game point by point. Along the same lines, the live video feed of home events allows fans to watch all the Griffin action live from their computer. The first live feed was Saturday, Sept. 19 at a volleyball match. The feed will make it much easier for friends and families to watch the Griffins play. Soccer player, Gary Gonzalez said, It is a thousand times better than the old website. My parents love the live streaming feed of the games. Fisher still hopes to make more improvements. The new site gives us the option in the future to do coaches shows and player interviews, he said. Another new feature to keep track of the Griffins is a running scoreboard. On the homepage of the site is an scoreboard scrolling the scores of all of the games played each day. The site also devotes an entire section to the fans. In this section, fans can buy tickets to any athletic event, receive directions to different sports venues, check the weather and purchase Griffin apparel from the bookstore. On the new site, fans can also join the Westminster Griffin Club. The Griffin Club is available to fans who are interested in giving financial support to Westminster Athletics. All of the money raised goes directly into the athletic program and benefits all teams and athletes. Griffin Club members receive a variety of gifts for their all sporting support. They can receive free admission to events, seat cushions, window clings and more. Twitter and Facebook are also new features on the site.
