Sometimes a chef may reside in the apartment over the restaurant until they are able to live on their own. Kyoto is unique because we are like a family, Tadasan explained. Normally people will work at a restaurant for a short time and then quit. I have had five people work for me for 23 years. We are now a family. Make a reservation on the weekends, or go earlier if you want to have an easier time finding a parking spot. The dish was very light and almost greaseless. Since I am not a fan of the dark, crispy frying, I was satisfied with the golden tempura.
