Griffins Door is one of the newest projects put forth the by members of die Westminster Saturday night, Westminsters Nick Buroker scored a career-hig- h 21 points with an 80-6- 8 win over No. 18 University of Montana-Wester- n. 6-- ideas, perspectives, standpoints and experiences as well as differences in ability, age, class, ethnicity, gender, geo- graphic origin, language, race, religion and sexual orienta- Diversity CounciL tion. Many students think that this is an important definition of diversity to understand, not only for the Westminster community, but for all people. "I think its important because a lot of people are very sheltered, said sophomore Krista Carlson. Diversity, an important part'of the value system at Westminster College, will be encouraged on campus. According to the Griffins Door,, the fpcus of, the new Diversity Center and newslet-- , ter will be to encourage open, lively education and . The Diversity Council is involved with various Westminster College activities, including the Key Bank Cultural Diversity Lecture Series. The Council is also involved in projects such as the future Diversity Center. Jeff Nichols, assistant history professor and chairman of the Diversity Council, told audience members at the Jennifer Finney Boylan lecture on Jan. 27 that Westminster hopes that the study of diversity will further student , learning.
