The Lady Griffins finished second among six teams and were 26 strokes ahead of third place finisher Lewis-Clar- k State College. Led by freshman Echo Thatcher, the Lady Griffins total of shot a three-da- y 1056 bettering the old mark of 1081 set in 2000. Westminster also set a new record for a low 1 8-h- round of 349. Coming into this tournament the previous low was 357 also set in 2000. Thatchers individual total of 245 is the lowest round fired by a Lady Griffin since last year when senior Rachel Miranda carded 246 on two occasions. Thatchers first round 79 marks only the second time in school history a Lady Griffin has broken 80 in tournament competition. (Last year in Butte, Mont., Miranda carded a 77) With four freshmen playing in their first collegiate tournament for the Lady Griffins, Coach Daron Park says he is pleased with the results.
