After losing five seniors to graduation, this years squad is one of the youngest ever and is comprised of primarily freshmen. We have good players but they are young and inexperienced on the college level, said Head Coach Chris Dorich. Fielding only 3 juniors this years team has depended upon enthusiasm and hard work. Brass The Intermountain Quintet, founded in 1984, is one of the regions prominent performing arts groups. These versatile musicians present an unusual blend of brass music from the renaissance and baroque periods, light classics, stirring marches and nostalgic jazz. In 1987, the group took second place honors in the Chicago Concert Series presents the Intermountain Brass Quintet in a concert of music for brass spanning four centuries. The concert is on Sunday, Oct. 2, 1994 at 7:30 p.m. in the Jewett Center for the Performing Arts. The concert is open to the public at no charge. This performance celebrates the tenth year anniversary of the ensemble and will feature favorite pieces from their repertoire . Chamber Brass Competition and performed at the Birch Creek Music Festival in Door County, Wisconsin. That year they also placed second in the Salt Lake Chamber Music Society Young Artists Competition. In 1991 and again this year, the ensemble was selected for the Utah Performing Arts Tour, sponsored by the Utah Arts Council.
