These symp- toms have more in common than just pass- ing germs. They are symptoms of stress ; v 1 Headaches, fatigue, neck ache and muscle tightness are all very common ways that your body lets you know it is stressed; Neglecting to pay attention to these early signs will result in your body breaking work you have left to do. " Use the following steps to regain control: Break each task down into its component parts, then estimate the amount of time it will require to complete each part, down. 1 1 I 7 I ? Take a look at your body when you are stressed. Is your neck tight? Jaw clenched? Do you have pain or tightness in you legs? Pain in your lower back? Step back and take three minutes for yourself. Focus on where your pain is; tighten individual muscles, then slowly relax them. Breathe in deeply .counting to three, and exhale for six, breathing the pam out in each exhale. Actually picture the pain and stress exiting your body. This doesnt mean ? you have to take hours; just taking 1 0 to 1 5 minutes a day doing something for will increase a 1 yourself that is relaxing positive attitude. Taking a bubble bath, baking, exercising, meditating or just sit- ting in silence may be your favorite way to relax. This list can go on and on. The point is to reserve time for you and only you. Another way that you can deal with stress is. to increase your support group. The S tudent Nurses of Westminster have ; initiated a program called Dial a Senior Nursing Student Business cards with a list of participating senior nursing students and their phone numbers have been passed out to all students claiming a nursing ma jor. Using this program reduces stress by sharing experience and answering questions. This system can be utilized throughout Westminster College by individual departments andor small groups of people. Unless stress is dealt with, it can lead to other health problems and can ultimately result in death. Utilization of stress management skills must be a high priority. Start now to manage stresses by organizing the Only 10 days left! Ski season is around the comer and a lot of the resorts have made some changes to accommodate the number of skiers and to improve the quality of snow. On top of the list is Alta. Sugarloaf Lift has converted from a double to a triple chair and the lifts top terminal will be shifted higher up the ridge to provide an easier access to the SugarloafBaldy Pass and the Germania Pass. Plans are underway to replace the existing tow with a more efficient tow, to connect Altas two base areas. The new, high-tec- h tow will create a better flow of skiers between the bases, and the restructuring of the Sugarloaf terminal will also help the traffic flow. Also, parking areas at each base will be repaved for this season. Next is Brighton. Additionally, $1.5 million is targeted to improving base and mountain facilities this season. Snowbird has made an increased commitment to trail maintenance. This year, more than 50 percent of the intermediate and beginner terrain will be groomed to provide an improved quality skiing experience for all levels of skiers. Snowbird Travel is the resorts new travel agency. Its staff is trained to arrange group and individual lodging, air, lift tickets and ground transportation. Finally, Sundance continues its intense summer grooming program on the majority of its advanced and intermediate runs. At the Sundance Nordic Center, there will be increased trail systems. At Sundance Lodging, the guest service department has expanded to handle travel, car rentals and guided tours for guests.
