Neither he nor any one. else then knew of die vast possibilities and opportunities for every line of endeavor and pleasure which existed within the boundaries of this community. THE Do you know that since 1913, Salt Lake Gty has been the of headquarters for the National Woolgrowers Association, and that from 1913 to 1922 eveiy National Convention bf this Association was held in this City? Do you know that the intermountain region is producing annually from wool and other sheep products approximately $ 00,000,000 in new wealth each year, without in any way depleting our natural resources? Do you know that the Salt Lake region produces annually approximately pounds of wool? And still Salt Lake Gty's importance as a wool center can be greatly enlarged "with the development of a great woolen textile manufacturing industry which will eventually be developed to go hand in hand with the wool growing industry of the Intermountain country. The development which has taken place since that time has made this a most desirable place in which to live, there being many natural resources from which people can make a prosperous living. In . addition to agriculture, mining and livestock, we have many other business pursuits which have brought, for our association, a tine class of people who are helping ..to continue the development of our com mercial and social life. 1 -- Utah's landscape is unexcelled, its outstanding feature being its mountains, and the motor highways traverse our valleys almost and canyons to their peaks, where recreational facilities are abundance such that in persons can enjoy either one or many hours of nearly any type of vacation delight that impels them to pack up, get in their car, fund leave home in search of new things to do, new things to see,' and new impressions to receive. All of this is available on either short or long trips, whichever we most desire. Canyon of the Colorado, accessible only through Utah, can be reached by a splendid automobile highway through the southern boundary of the state, and Yellowstone National Park can be reached yithin a few hours by automobile from our northern boundary. - Manufacturing produces wealth. The great industrial legders of America are manufacturers. The ever growing trend to move manufacturing plants close to the sources of raw materials will eventually vindicate our faith in Salt Lake Citv as a manufacturing center, well as a country rich in natural resources. V ' . For the same reasons that the cotton mills are moving South where the cotton is produced, the eyes of woolen textile manufacturers are tinned toward the West, and it is not a great stretch of imagination to believehe woolen industry which is now being started in this city, on a small scale, will grow into one of the largest producers of wealth in the West. Good fishing is found in practically all the" canyon streams, and in the areas adjacent to Great Salt Lake are some of the finest duck shooting grounds in the United States. In certain seasons and districts big game such as elk and deer may also be hunted. And where can you find more ideal settings for golf courses in summer or win' ter sports of different varieties? - V i1' 7 t ; Surely, with all these possibilities for prosperous and happy living, This Is The Place to get the greatest enjoyment from life. ELLIOT G TAYLOR, , : , President, Taylor Motor Car Company. ' j' - 100,-000,000 It is my firm conviction that in the not far distant future, the beginning which has already been made in an industry to take the raw wool from the sheeps back, grade it, sort it, scour it and manufacture it into woolen textiles of all kinds, will develop into an enormous manufacturing industry which will make Salt Lake not only the wool growing center of America, but the wool textile center of America as well. Great scenic wonders are brought almost to our doors by our present motor car transportation, and the 24,000 miles of improved roads and highways make available during our spare time the enjoyment of a most wonderful outdoors. Recreational facilities are unusual in Utah, Cedar Breaks, Zion National Park, and Bryce Canyon all being located within the state, while the north rim of the Grand . BRIANT S.
