Show i THE Page Eight PRICE, UTAH S Outline Plans, Name Chairwomen The Federated Womans Club of Price met Thursday, October 7, in the eluib room where President Bessie Staley and Vice President Peggy Larsen presided. Activities and meetings far the coming year were outlined and chairmen were named for the various committees. Velda Nay introduced the names of new members, and current members voted on these people. The big topic of the evening was how to help Carbon High Schools band reach its goal of making a Journey to Pasadena at New Years. Alii members voted unanimously to support any project of the band, and pledged to purchase tickets for the entertainments scheduled by the musical organization. The club also voted to postpone its annual project until spring so as not to interfere with any projects outlined by the band. Annuity the club sponsors a project for funds given to scholarships or other worthwhile programs. Next meeting of the Womans Club will be a banquet at Crest Cafe for all members and an initiation of new members. This will take place October 21, Thursday. Of BPW Clubs fall conference of the Southeastern district of Business and Professional Womens Clubs will be held dn Price Sunday, October 17, at the Green Well Restaurant. The affair will begin at 1 p.m. with a luncheon. State officers who will attend include President Joyce FrWby of Brigham City, First Vice President Jean Fox and Second Vice President Ann Kedd, both of Salt Lake City. District officers Boren and Catherine Olson of Helper and Hazel Snyder of Price along with Ann OBrien, world affairs chairman, will on a panel. The program is being planned as a newscast with each member on the panel giving reports on several interesting programs to be followed throughout the year. Utah Highway Patrol troopers Frank Whipple and Don Christensen said Miss Classon was passing a southbound car driven by Charles Gallegos, 22, Price, When the collsion occurred. Both cars went over a deep embankment, with Miss Classons car overturning. A passenger in Mr. Gallegos 17, Price, car, Linda Winder, suffered a fractured right leg and cuts and bruises. She was in good condition. Mr. Gallegos was treated for cuts and bruises. Gilbert Tony Sandoval, 22, of Wellington, a passenger in Miss Classons car, was uninjured. However, he became involved in two other accidents within four hours. One accident occurred on U.S. 50-a mile west of Wellington. Trooper Steve Douros said Mr. Sandoval returned to his home following the first accident, got his car, and started back toward Price when his car went out of control on the old Wellington-Pric- e highway and was wrecked. He was hitchhiking back to Wellington and standing alongside the highway when he was struck by a sideview mirror on a passing pickup truck. He suffered cuts and bruises and was in good condition at Carbon Hospital. ar LAMAR HADF1ELD 4-- H District Conference The Slate Piano Recital College of Eastern Utah will present four students of Caine Alder, pianist, in recital Saturday, October 16 at 8 p m. in the Geary Theatre. Students participating in the program are Joni Jensen, Deni.se Turcasso, Jan Leavitt, and Evelyn Henderson. The program will include selections from the works of Bach, Mozart, Schubert, Schumann, and Chopin. The public is invited, and no admission will be charged, according to college officials. New Grandson employee at the Carbon Fuel mine northwest of Company Helper, was injured about 9 a.m. Tuesday while working on the tipple. Apparently his arm was caught in a conveyor belt which carries coal dust from under a vibrator. The injured man was flown to St. Marks Hospital in Salt Lake City and latest reports indicate that the aim, although badly damaged, will be saved.
