Show Thursday, March 24. 1960 THE PRICE, Paga Seven UTAH County Attorney Warns Businesses Operating Under1 Assumed Names County Attorney James P. Alger has issued a warning to local businessmen of the effect of the requirement of the law concerning businesses operating under assumed names. According to Mr. Alger, he has been advised by B. II. Young, county clerk, that a great many businesses in Carbon county have failed to comply with Section Utah Code Annotated 1953. This law prohibits the carrying on of businesses in this state un der any name or designation other than the real name of the individ-- 1 uals conducting such businesses, unless such persons file an affl davit with the county clerk setting forth the name under which the business is conducted and the names of the persons conducting such businesses. The fee for fil ing the affidavit is $1.00. Failure to file it is punishable as a misdemeanor. It should be pointed out, Mr. Alger said, that this requirement does not apply to any corporation organized in this statf or any other state and lawfully doing business here.
