Jackson went by plane from Salt Lake City to Reno, Nevada, for a few days visit with Mrs. Ellis Petty of Menlo Park, California, who met them in Reno. The Ladies of the American Legion Auxiliary reported a very successful party Thursday evening. Mrs. Raymond Madrid was the lucky winner of the door prize. Winners ofr the aprons and pies were Mrs. Dan Garber, Mrs. Lee Kirk, Mrs. Alice Crombie, Mrs. Joe Dal Porte, Mrs. Arlin Robb, Mrs. John Lopan, Mrs. Levi Thomas, Mrs. George Mason and Mrs. Orville Lowe. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Parmley and their daughter and son, Kaye and Paul, drove to Las Vegas, Nevada, to spend a few days visiting two other daughters, Alice and Mary Ellen, who are teaching school here. Albert Barnett drove to Atchison, Kansas, for a couple of days visit with a friend. Richard Reva, son of Mr. and Mrs. Torry Reva, is home on a two-weeleave from the navy. The Alpha Iota chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met Wednesday night at the home of Mrs. Stuart Snow, President Mary Clark was in charge of the evening assembly, The cultural program was presented by Leah Lindsey and Ruth Hersh. The program centered around "Jewelry"; the history of jewelry was traced down through t he periods of time. A lavish display of foreign jewelry had been arranged by Mrs. Lindsey and Mrs. Hersh. Jewelry from almost every country was in evidence. Another interesting feature was the display of appropriate jewelry to be worn with various types of clothing and for different occasions. Following the Interesting program, delicious refreshments were served by the hostess, Mrs. Snow. The next meeting of the group will be held at the home of Mrs. Veloy Piccioni, November 6. The Happy Nine pinochle club met Wednesday night at the home of Rae Coleman. Lucky winner of the first prize was Blanche Manchester.
