Twelve - THE Thursday, June 21, 1956 SOCIETY and CLUB NOTES - in' PRICE GROUP ENTERTAINS IN WESTERN COLORADO A group of women known as the Kitchen Rhythmettes arc making a name for themselves in the neighboring state of Colorado. Invited by the Western Colorado Shrine club to entertain that group in Grand Junction June 9, their unusual and entertaining novelty numbers were so well received they have now been invited to the Western States Shrine convention to be held in Denver in October, all expenses paid. The ladies say they were royally treated during the overnight trip to Grand Junction, being entertained at dinner by Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Smith, and all are looking forward to the next engagement. The band, composed mostly of members of the Price Womens club, is a strange assortment of wash tubs, wash boards, funnels and pans, but with Jeannine Campbell at the piano and Faye Arthur as the leader they are able to make some lively music, nonetheless. Others in the band are Wanda Jewkes, Emma Lou Stevenson, Lena Gilbert, Dorene Bardsley, Marie Fausett, Marguerite Degn, Zelpha Anderson, Maxine Judd and Lucille Down-arBrenda Migliaccio accompanied the band and did three specialty dance numbers on the program. d. SORORITY INSTALLS NEW OFFICERS New officers were installed for Upsilon chapter of Beta Sigma Phi in impressive candlelight ceremonies Thursday, June 14, in the garden at the Hubbard home. Each outgoing officer passed on the tools of her office to her successor, named in the following order: President, Helen Day; vice president, Joy Peterson; corresponding secretary, LaJune Leish-marecording secretary, Dawna Miller, and treasurer, Faye John- FRIDAY CLUB MEETS Mrs. Moss Jeanselme was hostess for the Friday afternoon bridge club at her home June 15. A full course luncheon was served and Mrs. George Wallace was a present were guest. Members Mrs. Phil Horsley, Mrs. D. T. Madsen, Mrs. Fred Jones, Mrs. Quinn Whiting, Mrs. Lavell Merrill, Mrs. Herman Seppi and Mrs. Ray Leavitt. A tasty luncheon was served and Mrs. Empeys daughter, DOn, and Mrs. Florence Rich were guests. A box supper, OPEN HOUSE HELD FOR NEWLYWEDS Open house honoring Lieutenant and Mrs. Clayton Nielsen was held at the J. A. Harrison home Monday evening, June 18. About 100 friends called during the evening to congratulate and renew acquaintance with the young couple. A beautiful centerpiece of pink and white roses with pink candles in crystal holders decorated the table and roses and lilies were placed throughout the room. Charlene Anderson, Fawn Ann and Patsy Nielsen did the serving. The Nielsens, who are the son and daughter of Mrs. Verena Nielsen of Murray and Mr. and Mrs. Asa B. Heath of New Bern, North Carolina, were married in North Carolina June 9. .Since coming to Utah, the marriage has been solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS temple. Relatives, including Mr. and Mrs. Harry Erickson of Ruth, Nevada, uncle and aunt of the groom, and Mrs. Elsie Thomas, aunt of the bride, accompanied them. Lieutenant Nielsen, a former resident of Price, is now a jet flying instructor at Pensacola, Florida.
