Show THE Page Four Childrens Day is Observed with Show at Sunnyside Childrens day was observed here by entertaining the children at a free show at the Nu Star Theatre. Preceeding the show the children put on a talent show and many good numbers were given. Jeff Williams Due To Address K-- Club Monday F Members of the Castle Valley Knife and Fork Club are expect- ed to turn out in large numbers for the first meeting of the season when Jeff Williams, lawyer, wit, humorist, former director of Rotary International and an speaker of parts, will be the guest of honor. The affair, according to Dr. L. H. Merrill, the local president, who is in charge of the committee on arrangements, will be held at the Carbon Country Club on Monday, September 28, at 7:30 after-dinn- er p. m. Jeff Williams is engaged in activities many having to do with patriotic and civic interests. He was a member of the 1946 international convention committee of Rotary International and he has been associated administrator of the war savings staff for the state of Oklahoma, giving a great deal of his time, effort and ability to the stimulation of war bond purchases and to the work of civilian morale. During the past five years, he 0 has traveled approximately miles by airplane, speaking to audiences all over America and in some of the overseas countries. Competent critics consider him one of the speakers in the United States. Jeff Williams can best be described as a humorist and philosopher. He possesses a keen sense of humor which is a valuable asset to him in his effort to bring a message which is at once both inspirational and entertaining to his audiences. extra-curricul- ar Mr, and Mrs. Andrew Allred of Castle Dale drove to Sunnyside Sunday and had dinner with his son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Allred, Marilyn and grandson, Jimmy. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Markosek, Roselyn and Frankie spent the week end in Salt Lake City to see the ice follies and the. fair. Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Simmons and granddaughter, Kathy Allred, of Hiawatha were visitors at the Leslie Allred home Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Walker were business visitors in Salt Lake City last week end. They motored in Saturday and returned Sunday evening. Two girls from the Kaiser Steel Corporation pay roll office quit work last week to go to school. Miss Patsy McCourt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom McCourt, will be leaving the middle of this week for Provo where she will begin her freshman year at the BYU. Miss Claudette Wright, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Wright, will be going to Salt Lake City where she will be a sophomore at the U. of U. Claudette has been secretary to Thurlow VanCampen and her position is being filled by Miss Marilyn Allred. Three boys will be leaving this week for school. Martin Bezyack will be going to Salt Lake to enter the University of Utah as a freshman, Denny Lindsey and Scott Jeffs are going to Logan. Denny will be a freshman and Scott is a sophomore. son, Glen, Returned to Sunnyside Mr.' and Mrs. Lee Alger and last week end from Alaska.
