Show ACCEPTS CONGRATULATIONS The open house, held in honor of Mrs. Ada G. Shimmins 80th birthday, was highly successful, according to Mrs. Ray Branch, Mrs. Shimmins daughter. Mrs. Shimmin, looking young for her many years, accepted the congratulations of over 100 guests. The affair was held at the home of Mrs. Alverda Branch, another daughter, last Sunday, August 9. She received cards and good wishes from many of her friends in most of the western states. The house was decorated with large bouquets of gladiolas, roses, and petunias. To accentuate this, Mrs. Shimmin proudly wore a beautiful corsage of pink roses and white carnations. Serving the guests were Mrs. Shimmins great granddaughters, Marcia and Dianna Snow, and Janet Higgins. Helping in the kitchen were her granddaughters, Evelyn Snow, Barbara Lines, Marie Higgins, Donna Shimmin and Lucille Bruno. A special invitation is extend ed to member of the four wards in Price or anyone interested RECITE VOWS In a prettily appointed wedding held Thursday evening,' August 6, Marianne Jewkes became the bride of Lawrence A. Anderson of Scofield. Nuptial vows were exchanged by the young couple at the home of the brides parents in Price. Given in marriage by her father, the lovely bride was dressed in a floor length gown of white lace and net. The bodice was of lace, accentuated by a peter pan collar and cap sleeves. Matching lace gauntlets, a lace trimmed finger tip veil, and a pearl tiara on her head completed the bridal costume. Her bouquet consisted of large red roses and stephanotis. Mrs. Dick Pollard of Helper and Connie Rae Mathis of Spanish Fork acted as attendants to the bride while Gene Anderson performed the duties of best man for his brother. Bishop Fay Thacker officiated at the ceremony which was followed by a reception held at the brides home. The new Mrs. Anderson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. LaMar Jewkes and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arch Ander son of Scofield. Helping with the reception, which was held in a room decorated with pink and white gladiolas set off with large pink candles, were the brides friends, Helen Jean Stagg, Shirley Pagano, Lor-rin- e Listello and Darlene Safely. Also assisting were some of her aunts. Rendering vocal music at were Mr. Cal the reception Jewkes and Mrs. Clara Thompson. The couple plan to make their new home in Clear Creek. PARTY FEATURES BRIDGE LUNCHEON Mrs. Sheldon Allred has been a busy woman this week as she has been hostess to two big bridge luncheons. One was held Wednesday afternoon at her home. A delicious luncheon was served and the group completed the afternoon by playing bridge. Mrs. Allreds guests were Mrs. Gomer Peacock, Mrs. George Leatham, Mrs. Oscar Hanson, Mrs. Dick Mitchell, Mrs. George B. ENJOY PARTY All members of the Notre Dame Youth organization held a special party last Tuesday night. The party featured a private swim in the city pool which preceded a dance held in the Notre Dame church in Price. MEET Mrs. Joe Hammond was hostess at a buffet luncheon held at her home on Thursday, August 6, in compliment to Mrs. Nick Ber- of San Francisco. Mrs. Ber-gera will be remembered as the former Charlotte Mathis of Price. The group of former school chums enjoyed very much the afternoon ot reminiscing. Those present for the occasion were Mrs. J.
