Show Thursday, May 1,' 1952 THE NOTICE TO WATER USERS The following applications have been filed with the State Engineer to change or appropriate water in Carbon County, State of Utah, throughout the entire year, and all locations being from SLB&M, unless otherwise designated. To Change: a2594 Geneva Steel Company, P. O. Box 269, Salt Lake City, Ut proposes to change the point of diversion and nature of use of 16.67 ac.-f- t. of water initiated by Application No. 15620 from Grassy Trail Creek. The water has been diverted at a point S. 24"30E. 230 ft. from WVi Cor. Sec. 17, T14S, R14E. The water has been used and stored each year from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31 for domestic, industrial, locomotive toiler, mine sprinkling, and such other uses incidential .to the mining of coal. Hereafter, it is proposed to impound 16.67 ac.-f- t. of water to be stored in a reservoir from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31 by constructing a dam to a height of 88 ft. the center of which is located S. W. 3055.05 ft. from Ny4 Cor. Sec. 7, T14S, R14E. The reservoir will have a capacity of 1003 ac.-f- t. and will inundate 30 acres of land embraced in Sec. 7, T14S, R14E. Bureau of Reclamation, Federal Bldg., Salt Lake City, Ut. has filed with the State Engineer, a request for an extension of time from May 14, 1952 to May 14, 19 5 7, in which to make and submit proof of appropriation of water Application No. 8918 for the appropriation of 8,000 sec.-ft. and 1,500,000 ac.-f- t. of water from Green River in Carbon County, State of Utah, for generating power for electric lighting and propelling machinery in municipalities and on railroads in Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, Arizona, Nevada and California. It is represented that $2,500.00 has been expended on digging Jest pits and making reconnaissance surveys. Upwards of $700,000.00 has been expended in investigation of this and other power sites. Additional time is requested in order to complete investigations and construction of works. All protests resisting the granting of said request, with reasons therefor, must be made in affidavit form, with extra copy and filed with the State Engineer, 403 State Capitol, Salt Lake City 1, Utah, on or before May 31, 1952.
