Nile Washburn of the Carbon college faculty speak on poetry. After giving the history and backgiound of poetry, Mr. Washburn read several of His faonte poems. A short musical program followed which consisted of a piano duet by Marilyn Allied and Patsy McCourt, two vocal selections by the Pieston Sisters, and several piano numbers by Miss Allred. The program and refreshments were in charge of Mrs. Nina Jensens committee. At the preceding meeting the club heard an interesting talk on public welfare by Mrs. Henry Murphy and enjoyed a short movie shown by Mrs. Schalia. At an October meeting, Price Police Chief William Lines gave an enlightening discussion on narcotics. He also showed a display of various types of drugs from he raw to the processed state. SORORITY HOLDS MEETING The members of the Xi Kappa chapter No. 919 met last Thursday evening for a short business meeting and program. Each member was asked to contribute one dollar to the Beta Sigma Phi Endowment fund. Sorority members all over the world contribute to the fund which has a purpose. very worthwhile Should a Beta member ever need financial assistance she may write to the international office and in turn she will receive a check for the sum she needs and she can repay the money without interest, Plans for the Christmas tea and party were discussed.
